Default newbie from Cape Town

Hi, my name is Pat O'Connor from Cape Town, South Africa.
I am new to metal shaping, but have spent many years in metal
fabrication for the boat building industry.
My son and I are restoring a 1962 Vellocette motorcycle and are
building the fuel tank in aluminium as our first project. We did a
first course with Barry in Stellenbosch.
Our dream going forward is to build a hotrod for Rory and a D type
Jaguar for myself.
I have joined to learn what machines to build and help with the skills
we need to aquire

Welcome Pat. There are quite a few of you guys now in Cape Town. Maybe it's time for me to relocate down there?

Regards, Manny

Thanks guys. The Cape Town members may be interested to know that I managed to source from the mill some aluminium 3003 - sheets are 1.4mm thick and plate size 1560mm x5000mm - let me know if you are working on an aluminium project - extracted it from an American export order.

Hello Pat, welcome to allmetalshaping. You can do a lot with no machines, machines just make it a little easier once you have learned how the metal moves.
