Hi, my name is Pat O'Connor from Cape Town, South Africa.
I am new to metal shaping, but have spent many years in metal fabrication for the boat building industry. My son and I are restoring a 1962 Vellocette motorcycle and are building the fuel tank in aluminium as our first project. We did a first course with Barry in Stellenbosch. Our dream going forward is to build a hotrod for Rory and a D type Jaguar for myself. I have joined to learn what machines to build and help with the skills we need to aquire |

Thanks guys. The Cape Town members may be interested to know that I managed to source from the mill some aluminium 3003 - sheets are 1.4mm thick and plate size 1560mm x5000mm - let me know if you are working on an aluminium project - extracted it from an American export order.

Hello Pat, welcome to allmetalshaping. You can do a lot with no machines, machines just make it a little easier once you have learned how the metal moves.
