Default Another new Aussie

Hi there, Matt here.
I'm a long term DIY sort of guy, and now all the work is done on my house I have moved from wood to metal. Having a '61 Holden is another excuse for buying heaps of tools.

Got a 9" Hercus lathe, Chinese mill, ancient Mit-a-Mit shaper and a couple of welders. Taking night classes for TIG at the moment.

Have bought some of Mr Covell's videos and now inspired to bash some curves out.

I guess I want to be able to make "stuff" in metal. Having an old house, old car and old tools (and loving them) I am a bit fed up with our disposable society that keeps generating plastic crap in China that goes into landfill when it breaks.

Anyway, normally I'm a bit of a Forum lurker after a couple of "less than friendly" receptions on other boards, but I'm here to learn so I'll go through the old posts before getting too involved.

Cheers
Matt
