My name's Jack W, and I'm located near Idyllwild CA. One wife, four horses and three dogs. I feed these companions working as a consulting economist; mostly stats work in support of litigation.
Several of my uncles were Metal Men of one sort or another. Engineers, steel workers, and gents who ran aluminum siding boiler rooms. I got into metal working through a 53 MG, some years ago. Parts availability and finances brought me to, "Maybe I can make that." One thing led to another. Have done more parts machining than metal shaping -- but that could change. I have read quite a few metal shaping books; fascinating stuff. One of the best days I remember with my Dad was using hack saws to cut the roof off a VW ragtop we found at Pick-Your-Part. Grafted it onto a 57 Renault 4CV and it turned out real nice. Looks like a lotta smart people here.
