Default Backk again

The moderator doesn't seem to have any of my posts so coming in the back door again. I am 77 and retired. I have worked about 50 yrs in manufacturing and sure miss it. Nobody will hire me at 77. I have a history for making umpteen thousands for my employers but can't get an interview. I need advice from this group like when Ferris Oxhide told me to use a lazer on yonder wall to move my mill/drill vertically to change tools of different length and retain position laterally as I could do if I had a Bridgeport knee mill.
I am building a Lotus 7 clone (Locost) to keep my mind sharp in case I fool someone into giving me another ride on the merry-go-round. Occasionally I stick a small engine in a motorbike or build something like the 48" burnishing belt machine using a motorcycle fork leg. Keith Williams (trackfodder)

Welcome! I have always wanted to build a 7 clone. I would love to see some of your work if you can get past the administrators safety.

Hi Keith, welcome to the forum. If I were going to build a lotus seven replica I would replicate an early car with the narrow wheels, little side valve ford engine and all. I have done a bit of work on a lotus eleven recently, pretty rare car.

Welcome to the forums.

My daughter is at OSU (Stillwater, OK)... hence my metal tools are pieces of oak shaped to fit my hand. My wife keeps thinking it would be nice to move to OK, and I keep telling her the minute we get up there she'll move back to Texas.

Good tip on the worksurface. In the old shop I had my Edlund Drill Press (adjustable knee table) close to the Full Size milling machine. If I have to machine the end of the 8' post it was simple to support the other on the drill press table.
