Default Fla Airplane Builder

Hi everyone. While I've built a couple of airplanes, a steel tube and fabric biplane and an aluminum monocoque RV9A, I haven't done much metal shaping and would like to learn. I really admire the old-time craftsmanship in parts like polished aluminum wheel pants on the old 1930's aircraft.

Welcome Allen!

Nice to have another Florida-based airplane type here. I have built and restored a few airplanes myself, mostly Pitts. Done work on a number of others. My boss has an RV-8 but I didn't get involved in the build which was done in Ohio. It's a nice flying machine, IO-360 w/3-Blade CS Hoffman prop.

welcome. I'm a big aviation fan also, but I build R/C models. I agree the polished aluminum of the older aircraft is really cool.

Welcome,

I have recently acquired a RV9 tail section myself and currently in my student pilot adventures hopefully pilot status by year end.

Ask away and go to a local event if you can. These are a great group of guys here.
