Hello Mark, Good to see another GMC truck fan. Take a look at my '57 in the introductions. It's not done yet. Post some pictures of you truck. I'll be posting some of my next project but I'm pondering the ultimate e wheel build right now....Good Luck...

Thanks all,
Mark, I checked out your 57, very nice work. I like the flip front. I thought it was kinda funny how mine is/ was in the same condition as yours was and I've been patching the body in all the same places... mine is even almost the same paint color. I went on a slightly different direction on the frame though, instead of a heights/ MII front suspension I went with a Camaro clip just because of (1) budget and (2) the theme , I'll see if I can insert a frame pic. Before I started the truck the wife and I planed it out (yes I'll admit she had input) and planned the build to be a hot rod inspired truck that’s meant to be driven, not trailered everywhere, lowered with modern updates to the chassis and interior & a 2 tone paint job over a moderately massaged body. What we came up with was to take the best of what GM put out over the years, picking what we liked most or would work the best from each decade and stay within a reasonable budget.... ya right, best laid plans eh! Still under budget though but that can change as most of us know, we're trying to avoid the latest flavour-of-the-month aftermarket parts but I'll admit that for some things it's just the way to go. I just didn't want to be one of the people who dump $70,000+ into a vehicle that is only worth maybe $30,000 when it's complete, it happens but I'll try to avoid that situation if I can. I originally wanted to buy/build/sell but the sell part is probably not going to happen, wife (and me a little) are getting attached to it.

Mark I like the way you added the front clip.
I have 3 1948 GM trucks in the works my self at the moment. The latest I bought from an estate last weekend., a 1 ton chev long box p/u. I'll probably put S-10 frames under all of them.

I have a few buddies doing pre-50's chevs and GMC's but couldn't find one at the time, I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to pre 60 vehicles. IMO they accualy had some style to them back then.
