Whats up everyone? A little about myself, my names Cameron, Im 21. Ive kinda grew into cars and making things, its not really in my family. Ive been working on cars for a few years now and have always been a do it yourselfer. Ive been itching to learn how to weld and metal work for a long time now, I just enrolled in school for welding 101 that starts in january. And unfortunately they dont teach any metal working classes other than that i figured i better find a place to learn more skills that I want. So I hope this is a place I can learn some about metal working tools and other tricks. Look forward to learning here.

Cameron, welcome to the site, thanks for the introduction. There is a lot of information here so this is the place you can learn. Welding is an important part of building larger complex panels. There are some very good DVDs available that will also help teach you a lot and get you on your way to shaping metal. Thanks for joining us.

Welcome Cameron.

You should learn quick here, good luck with the welding, is it all types?

take a look at Sollis's intro, amazing what you can do without welding.

Have fun

Welcome to the site, Its pleasing to know some younger people are interested in learning these skills. You don't have to have a huge workshop full of machines to get started. It is possible to make almost anything with just a few hand tools. Taking a welding course is a good start, it will allow you to become familiar with the processes and the welding methods. The process of welding thin sheet for bodywork is very different to those used to weld thicker material.
