Default Great Site

Hi,

I'm Gordy from Michigan and came across this site while searching for information on monocoque construction.

I have been building an exact ( okay 99%) copy of the iconic F1 car from the 60's, a Lotus 49.

From searching through the many threads I can see there are some great projects and people here, hoping to learn more about the art of metal shaping from the experts.

Hi Gordy - what a great project! Love to see some pictures. What powerplant are you using?

Thanks for the welcome. These are some older photos of my project. Excuse the milk crates, I ran out of stands in my little shop

I'll try to update with some better shots, but this will give you some idea of what I'm building. The last photo is a buck we made for the nose, the only fiberglass part on the car.

I have a Cosworth DFR that I'm converting to DFV spec. Finding the right transaxle has been a bit daunting.
