Default Sad, sad news about Ken Burt

We received and confirmed the sad news that our friend Ken Burt (KenB) passed away from a massive heart attack Saturday July 30, 2011.

Ken was a great guy and ambassador for metal shaping. He hosted several gatherings at his shop in Flamborough, Ontario. He was a constant teacher and his project documentation was exceptionally detailed as was the quality of the work itself. His aluminum vase had recently been selected as an exhibit for the ArtPrize 2011 contest in Grand Rapids, Michigan!

We were in awe of his skills.

We could go on about his accomplishments but quite honestly, we're a bit numb at the news. Hopefully George Hobers, who gave us the details, will post funeral arrangements.

His passing will leave a void and he will be missed. Our prayers go out to his family and friends.

His work lives on here. He helped many people understand the finer points of manipulating aluminum. Even after his passing he will help those who follow. Thank you Ken Burt.

I remember speaking to him on the phone on a number of times and loved how easy he was to talk to, and his excitment about metalshaping is contagious.

Ken, thank you, and I miss you.

I did not know Ken but I followed his posts with interest. What a metal shaper he was! I read the last posts this morning before going to church.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Heaven must be in need of a fine craftsman.

This is weird, I have never met Ken, I have not even talked to him on the phone. We shared e-mails and Pm's, responded to each others threads. So why in the hell do I feel like I just lost a brother?

Ken if you check in one last time, Know this you are a very special individual that has effected a lot of people. You will always be with us and you will never be forgotten.

Thanks for sharing!!
