Future metalshaper from NZ
Hi,
I am currently building a lotus 7 replica from scratch so have done a bit of cutting and welding so far but now I am about to tackle the aluminium body panels. The easy way would be to buy lots of expensive machinery or pay someone to do it for me, but seeing as building it myself is the whole point of the project I thought I would have a go at forming these panels by hand using some more basic tools (and possibly making some along the way). I suspect things could go a little wrong along the way, but it is worth a go! And hopefully with some helpful advice we might be able to get things back on track...... DOug

Hi Doug - best advice is to run, run far away... You think that meth (P/crack) is adictive? Well it has nothing on the stuff you are embarking upon.
Welcome to the forum from another Aucklander and please be sure to post some shots of you progress - the 'fails' as well as the triumphs. We lesser mortals all learn something as the metalshaping gods chime in with advice.
