Thanks Pugsy.
I opened up one of the wiper shaft openings thinking I would have to use a modern stye, before I found some original transmissions. I found repro grommets in Australia so I needed to resize the hole. I sanded a piece of graphite block to fit through the double inner panel and match the convex shape of the cowl with a dimple to locate the grasshopper nib. Then I welded it up, filed it back , and re bored the opening with a step bit. And the grommet in place.

Aren't they great Kent, no 3 sided holes in sheet metal.
I didn't check my tank depth when I filled the original tank opening, so I had to cut it out and raise the floor. Flanges were welded at the end and makes the tank bottom even with the rear apron.

I rolled the rear bulkhead to transition to the floor.
Then I ran the floor panel through the Pulmax to form the ribs as before. It picked up a twist which I think was caused by the stretching of the interior, so it required a couple passes through the Shrinker. That corrected some of the twist, but I had to use the torch on areas the jaws wouldn't reach. And then it laid flat when Clecoed into position.

Nicely done mate and the tank tucks up well.
New floor ribs look factory too.

Nice floor panel.
I'm confused about the different "levels" in you trunk. Will you be cutting away the extra material on the left and right of the upper level? |

Thanks Marcus.
Pugsy, the upper level was the trunk floor and covered the spare tire below it. Since the trunk lid opens tailgate style that upper level and the trunk lid when down create a four foot long carry deck. I thought when I first eliminated the tank opening that I could fit a donut spare, but it didn't work out. I will make a removable wood deck and keep small spares in the space below it.

The narrow body requires a dog leg to clear the headers. Then the angle of the steering wheel inside was excessive with the straight column, so I shortened it and installed another U joint under the dash. Every two U joints requires support so I welded up an angle clamshell to tie the upper and lower parts of the column together. It feels solid now.
I mocked up steering with 3/4" wooden dowels sanded to a double "D". The final support will be the 3/4" rod end which will be mounted on a frame bracket. The interior view of the two parts of the column and the firewall swivel. Half of the weldment made up of 2.25" exhaust tubing reduced to clamp to the 2" column. I used the expanded ends to clear the jamb screws on the U joint. The dog leg clamshell in place.
