I think it depends on your plan of use.
I just bought a Harbor Freight version with a coupon for less the $80. My plan was to get some inexpensive dimple dies to pair with the die holes. I have since learned that the knockout dies are for pipe sizes, not tubing, and therefore the actual hole diameter is NOT same as the pipe "size". For example a 2" pipe knockout die is actually 2.4" diameter. There are few manufacturers of pipe-sized dimple dies and most are pricey relative the cost of the hole punch. I have yet to find tubing sized knockout die to punch dimple die-sized holes (1" 1.5" 2" etc) I'm still on the fence whether I'm keeping the punch or not. Haven't even opened it. YMMV.

Greenlee and others also make a manual set of these punches that you could probably find on craigslist or other locations used for a good price. I use a set with a 1/2" socket wrench and it works fine. Maybe wouldn't want to do a lot of holes but it serves my needs.

I have some of the Greenlee punches and many hole saw sizes. The not cutting pilot works great.
There are also 2 types of pin drive arbors, some allow wobble and others dont. I prefer the non wobble type even though they take slightly longer to change hole saws.

I have both Greenlee and Generic Asian punches all work well, but I have never been able to find any that are not conduit sizes which means none of them work with my dimple dies.

I did get the Harbor Freight version (less than $80) and was just using it last week end to my surprise.. it works great. much cleaner than hole saw.
I did get it for the purpose of doing dimples. I needed a lathe project and I made a set out of aluminum. I don't know how long they might last but so far seem to work great. oh the project last week end was not dimpled just holes punched.

Mine are Blair Holcutters. Pretty much interchangeable with Hougen Rotabroaches.
