Lock cogs arrived. Added a couple of stops to keep it from rolling forward or back while driving, and a spring to put pressure on the works to keep it from moving. Everything works well.

I got the 2 pieces of mock up glass.
Glued them in to the new heavy duty mock up bottom track to have a one piece window. I believe I will make the final tracks from 14 gauge. This one is 11 gauge, 1/8" thick and too heavy. The idea was for the bottom rail to help the two pieces to solidify down there so the tops wouldn't move too much. The stainless trim glued on with UV adhesive works really well so the "help" from the bottom channel won't be required. I can also weld a small bit across the tops of the trims, inner and outer, and that would keep the two pieces of glass from moving and separating. Video link of glass in action. Nice details.
Looks like you are running the SPW universal window kit? I had to go out and buy one yesterday as the Chinese one could handle the weight of the glass once I switched from the MDF template. Paying twice because I tried to save money the first time!

I got some epoxy sprayed so the I could flatten the hems. Key word if "flatten". Too bad a guy doesn't do what he's supposed to and it sets off a chain of events that are not resolved til this day.
My inexperience building rods is really showing, (never built one before), the second pic shows the hem is not squished down tight. I hung the door with it like this forgetting that, or not realizing that it wasn't done yet. So then, I proceeded to add filler rod to the edge to fill the large gap which wouldn't have been there if I had of just done it correctly in the first place.....damn..... |

More on the edge issue later.
Had to get the conduit supplied with the power window kit into the door and jamb next. They give a guy a spring with a plastic sleeve and rubber grommets to hold them in place. They wouldn't last long so I made sleeves out of stainless of course. However, with the swing of the hinges, the door stays very close to the jamb in it's travel. This had the spring making a noise much the same as an old ghost ship in the middle of the night. I made up a sleeve to weld into the door edge with a set screw and a squish collar so it would lock the spring without deforming it.
