Keith - I did receive your email, I apologize for not responding. This book thing is going faster than I imagined.

Steve - I have added you to the list as well.

Thanks you gentlemen.

Default Getting very close

The first copy of the book has finally arrived. It is the prototype, and it is the last chance for me to make any corrections prior to the books going into print. It is MUCH larger/thicker than I imagined. I expect the last review to be completed by the end of this week, so the books might be ready by the end of next week, and then I can arrange to have them shipped or picked up.

I will be posting very soon the details for ordering.

Where are we going to find a thin man with hair and a mustache that's not grey?

On Monday, I will be submitting the final corrections to the printer, and the printing will start. When the books are in my hands, I will make a post for those that are still interested in acquiring one.

Here is a table of contents. It is a copy of the submission, prior to the page numbers being established.

I was privileged to be sent some of these stories several year ago. I can assure you they are most entertaining. Some are poignant, some are hilarious. I'm looking forward to getting the book.

Default Books are ready to ship

I just got thing finally settled at the printers and the books are available as of this evening. I am attaching pictures of the cover and a copy of the forword by H. A. 'Humpy' Wheeler the noted promoter of the Charlotte Motor Speedway during my involvement.

FOREWORD
This is an extraordinary book about an extraordinary man who I first met over 40 years ago when I asked him to give a young Dale Earnhardt a chance at the big race that I was putting on at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was a real break back then for Dale who had been tearing up the South's dirt tracks.
They did well enough, but it began a friendship with Will, and I soon began to realize that he was indeed one of the smartest guys we have known. He is a mechanical genius and one of a rare breed that can hand shape metal, one of the more difficult tasks in the world.
He can do anything from restoration work on a Bugatti to rebuilding military Humvees to setting up the most challenging of NASCAR stock cars. Here is a story of a guy who came out of the Midwest and became an honorary redneck. If he and the legendary Smokey Yunick had worked on the moon program, we would have been there a decade earlier.
How do these unique people get this way?
That is exactly what this book is about, so fasten your seat belts and get ready for a great read.
H.A. 'Humpy' Wheeler
Here is how to acquire a copy of the book:

BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS

The book is titled 'I was a NASCAR REDNECK'- 'Recollections of the transformation of a Yankee farm boy to a Southern redneck in the Golden Age of NASCAR and beyond.'
I did all of the writing, formatting and photo manipulations for the entire book. It has been an educational and expensive proposition. It has been professionally edited and has 68 stories amounting to 605 pages and includes 165 photographs. It includes ten stories with pictures about 'My Favorite Top Ten Builds'.
The price of the book is $39.95 plus $8.05 for S/ H for a total of $48.00.
The initial printing is for only 200 copies, I have no idea how long they will last.
I apologize that I am unable to provide free copies from this small initial order, as I have an associate that has funded this first venture and I am committed to repaying that kind gesture.
If you still have an interest in receiving a copy of this book you may do so by making an appropriate PayPal payment to wildcad@comporium.net. (be sure to include your shipping address). Or, mail money order or company check to:
Will Cronkrite
1735 Heckle Blvd.
Suite #103-3223
Rock Hill, S.C. 29732

My preference is PayPal as it is faster and that is how I pay the book printer.
I apologize for the limited way to acquire this book. I am working on it.
