1935 Georges Irat 6CV Roadster
I am reconstructing the front and rear fenders, braces and the hood and hood hinges for this car. My son is running out of time for Amelia Island Concours so I am helping him finish the metal and body work. There were only 1500 of these cars built from 1935-39 and only a few still exist.

Jim, Nice set of photos as an explanation on how to repair the fenders. A piece at a time.

More Georges Irat photos
Here are some more photos of repairs made to the front end of the car. Time is running out. The body of this car is made in 23 ga metal which is very thin and is probably why the car had so many metal failures. My repairs are being done in 19 ga so it makes it a little tricky to weld and metalfinish. New wire is added where it is necessary.

Wow, I thought those front wings looked like a pretty fragile design in general. Never figured they would also be that thin.

Woodwork and skinning the door
The original door skin had been replaced with a backyard attempt to make the repair. The radius was really off so I had to loft the frame and body so it would flow. New pins and bushings had to be made, the door was a half inch bigger than the opening so the frame had to be cut down and I made metal jambs.
