A new guy's first post
Hello everyone, my name is Brian White, and I currently hail from Grants Pass, Oregon.
I have been shaping metal as a hobby, and professionally (in two different hot rod shops) on and off since my 20's when I discovered an interest, and was fortunate enough to go to a Ron Covell class after my grandmother got me one of his videos for Christmas many years ago. I also spent over 20 years as a machinist specializing in carbide tipped high speed router bits. Similar to what you use on your garage hand router or shaper, but weighing up to 12 pounds. Made for CNC routers spinning up to 18000 RPM, and completely built from scratch on manual equipment for custom applications at Bentwood Furniture. I am now involved in creating 100% made in America solid wood chairs (cherry, oak, walnut, etc.) at Rogue Valley Furniture here in Grants Pass. You may have noticed my username; steel3window. you can find me using it it at; The Jalopy Journal, Old Ford Barn, Garage Journal, as well as other locales on the internet... It is a reference to a 1932 Ford I owned many years ago, and was the one vehicle of many I have been a steward of that I wish I never had to get rid of. I am looking forward to making friends, and gleaning more information than my feeble brain can retain here.
