Default Watervliet in Loudoun County

I found a Watervliet planishing hammer on Craigslist. The ad says "can ship", but the seller will only accept cash.

I'm in Kansas, so apparently I'm SOL. Just wondering if anyone here lives in proximity to Purcellville, VA (and still has faith in humanity) that could act as a proxy to complete a cash sale and shipment.

If, however, we're doomed to no longer trust our fellow man, you can buy it out from under me. Here's the ad - he told me $1675.

That frame looks a little "tweeked" as the upper and lower do not look concentric

Pretty sure he's decided I'm a scammer. If anyone else wants it, you won't hurt my feelings.

Exactly. I first told him I'd try to find someone here. After having done that, I remembered to check with my cousin to see if he still lived in Leesburg and would be willing to be my proxy.

Once I offered up the cousin instead, he became non-communicado. What-evs. He's the one that put "can ship" in his ad, implies he's a business, but not a BIG shipper like Amazon that can do it cheaply, is passive aggressive about how expensive it would be - to which I counter that I'll use my UPS shipping account and send him a label (quoted at $25, btw &#128580. Only after all that, when I have to ask what forms of payment he'll accept - expecting credit card as a minimum option - he says cash only. 😤🙄

Jeeeeeeeeesus. If you're gonna be a curmudgeon that can't get past decades old scams and get with the current payment apps, just put "local pickup only" in your fucking ad!!!!!!

The best part was his "good luck with your search" for a Watervliet (or similar) planishing hammer at a less than insane price. 😤

JMO but those things are overrated. Unless you are doing specific things everyday you won't use it much. Why not make your own and save some cash?
No way would I part with over $1600 bucks for that crusty old thing. Again JMO.

Chalk that one up for Karma protecting me from my own impulsiveness, I guess.
