Just a question on how much excess material to leave as I obviously don't want to cut or trim too much.
So the red line is where I want to cut, the green line is the end of the panel which is about 70mm away. Orange line is a shallow fold or crease.
I figured trimming what I don't need now would make it a little easier to move the panel around for E wheel and other work.

Bart. Compare my picture to yours.
Why do you think I have a bent edge upside down? I have it bent upside down to keep it in shape. What does it mean ? This means that the product does not twist differently than you want.
If you have an edge bent in the same direction where you shape, you have it bent unnecessarily. You just worry unnecessarily and don't take good advice. We were worried too. Then we got this idea and it was solved.
When the shape you really wanted appears on the plate and that means in all places, only then can you cut.
Compare both photos and write what you see. Make an experiment on a 1 x 1 meter plate and you will immediately understand what I meant.

Ufff.....

Yes i have bent the edges, it looks a little flatter now because there's a curve in the sheet steel.
I thought maybe at this stage to cut off what I don't need and bend up again along the green line as i need to E W a little more

Bart. When your shape is done, cut. But if you are not in the right shape, uncontrolled waves will occur again.
Think about future steps well. Good luck.

On the first try, you embarked on a work that few people can do.
