Default Hello from Florida

Hi All,

My name is Louis Brooks, I am 41, male, in good shape..er wait, wrong forum.

I am a professional geek, though for the past couple of years I have been in management (Hence the profession of Cat Herder) running a medium sized IT shop in Tallahassee, FL.

Unprofessionally, I work on old cars. I have gotten pretty proficient at doing general patching and can do a MIG weld then hammer and dolly so it doesn't need any filler. I have done chassis and roll cage work and have a decent collection of hand tools and a few basic power tools. (my new plasma cutter arrives tomorrow, so excited) Now I am looking to learn more advanced metal shaping techniques. I see lots of bowls, flanges, and scrap metal in my near future. Thanks for letting me join and I look forward from learning a lot from the members here.

Thanks,

--louis

Welcome, Louis. Your box of fun may arrive today. If you haven't seen the videos, check YouTube. Do mount them on something solid.

I have watched those videos three or four times and you make it look too easy. Looking forward to trying them out this weekend.

Thanks,

Hi David,

I was just watching the video you sent me and I can tell it will be well worth the money. You have me wanting to try my hand at O/A welding now.

Hi Louis, I remember now. I hope you do learn gas welding because it gives great results once you have mastered it.
