The models are made from several layers of sheet, shaped to match the contour of the body. These pieces stack up and glued to give the thickness for flush to the body and fit to hold the rubber seal in place between lense and body. The diffuser is cut from florescent light fixture, gently cut and heated to fit snuggly inside the light housings, this helps to locate the and hold the assembly in the fender opening. A silicone mold will be poured and the lenses will be cast in resin with appropriate pigments to get desired colors.

![]() The V12 is in place for mock up of it's supporting hardware. Good thing is, I have extra room thanks to the modified bonnet complete with scoops and enlarged power lump.

I was thinking 4 little turbos, but not enough room in the right front. So 2 larger turbos will give me an easy 850hp+.

Mike: Which V-12 are you going to use? 5.3L flathead or HE or a 6.0L?
Some (maybe most of the US imports) of the 5.3L flat heads had very low compression ratio 7.8 to 1 if I recall correctly. A good candidate for forced induction. Are you going with forged pistons? Upgrade camshafts? Updated EFI ? Inquiring mind. I have a few of these V-12's and am considering twin turbos on one of my low compression flatheads. I do have a 9 to1 flathead that may wind up with six 48IDA Webers (not the best selection for Webers but what I have). For those unfamiliar with Jag V-12's, the flat head is not what you may be thinking. It is still overhead cam but the head has no combustion chambers. It is flat with the combustion chambers in the crown of the piston. This was the preferred head for racing applications since the HE configuration was a high swirl with considerable valve shrouding. They also punched them out to seven liters. The Group 44 XJR-7 was a treat to see and especially to hear. |
