well, i didn't know what to get my wife for christmas, so i ordered her cass's book! Just finished "previewing" the book. I found it amazing, inspiring, and overwhelming all at once. i agree with one poster who commented it was a little hard to follow, and the pictures could be clearer, but with enough studying all of a sudden, LITEBULB! i wondered to myself if it was worth building all these tools, but i came to a couple of conclusions. first off, i am a journeyman industrial welder, and i try to be the best i can at my trade, but i cannot lay a bead as nice as a "machine", or robotic welder. my theory is his machines help him make steadier, or more consistant beads, etc, to achieve the award winning level of finish he does. Another thing, he often does a number of pieces, which quickly makes it worthwile to make machines, tooling, etc. i would love to do more press work myself, and was inspired by this book. but i dont think the wife will be!

My first copy actually got lost somewhere but Cass was so nice to send me another one - thanks again for that!
The book is very interesting, some very different approaches. I'm still trying to soak all the information out of it. I love the portable beadroller and the adjustable E-Wheel.
