The Pullmax mod was the best single change done to date. It makes the die possibilities almost endless when it comes to shape/height

Next we start out shrinking the bottom contour to match the hammerform side contour. Then we can bolt it to the hammerform and start slapping the top edge to fit. This is done on the hood top as well. When all three parts match and nest together, we can trim and tack them together.

We then grind the tacks almost flush, do a light planish to ensure an even joint and it is ready for flame welding. These are not my welds, (letting a new man get some experience) but as you can see by the last pic, the inside generally looks better than the top side. This is 100% penetration, and the panel can now be worked as one piece.
We will now planish and grind all of these welds away, inside and out, to make the joint the same thickness as the rest of the part. This takes the most time in the whole process. Considering there is 14 feet of weld, it will take the rest of the day to get it uniform and smooth.

now that the sides are done, the next step will be to square the ends, and cut the front profile. For this, we just used a paper pattern from the original

From here, we are ready to cut the opening for the screen. Since we have the data for the opening already, we waterjet cut a pattern with a 1" offset for a cut profile and used this for the layout. Rough cut opening ready for hand trim and file work...

tip the edges by hand, and again, using the template, cut some stainless perforated for the screen and bend a lip around the perimeter by hand. Bolt the two together, and we have a finished hood!

It is a Meco Midget if I remember correctly
