I'm listing a P-9 Pullmax for sale, with over 30 pieces of tooling, if anyone is interested. (San Antonio).

I've cleaned a number of these dies and they all have come out very nice, with some wear in a few cases, and no abuse (no crashed dies). It seems to be a sort of cosmoline grease coating on them, which is not surprising as the machine came from a Navy repairs ship that was loaded with repair equipment - and something like 3 Pullmaxes. Current owner has owned and run this machine for many years. P9 data plate.jpg P9 dies_1.jpg P9 dies_2.jpg P9 dies_3.jpg P9 dies_4.jpg P9 dies_5.jpg P9 side view.jpg

What are those?
Kent,
I've never seen the round shank tooling pictured here. How is it used?

John: They look like stripper feet. See the flat on the end of the round shank.

Similar to the stripper feet on the Whitney punch machines. And you can see the punch set in another photo - with the removable outer punch ring. You only need one base and a set of rings - for the bottoms. The tops are more tedious to make or acquire. Note the front of the machine has an upper threaded boss hanging out temptingly.

Nibbler attachment
I saw a nibbler attachment on a P6. The stripper foot on it was mounted in a different fashion and had an air supply to blow out the resulting nibbled metal. That's what threw me off - but now that I know where it mount's, it's as plain as day.
Some days, you are just too close to the problem....
