Thanks guys. Appreciate that.
I did all the panels by myself. Quite difficult to close track that way. Requires all my brain cpu power to track straight lines over the panel. :P
The panels next to the bulge have very little crown in them, especially those need to be close tracked to have nice panel concistensy. Yesterday my father was over and lend me a hand holding the panel. That was a big difference in concistency....
But still, it can be done alone.

I do have some trouble with the long reverse curve panel. The reverse is 1cm floating above the panel. It's very difficult to lower that once the reverse is in there. Pretty hard to explain. I will take some detailed pics, and hopefully you lot can point me in the right direction to fix that. I needs to get fixed before welding..... Nothing other then perfect will do for me

Thanks Maxakarudy. That was a lifetime big project aswell for me, and still is.... Reaching and passing the 1.000HP marque was pretty intense.
You can now find it btw at your local bookstore on the front cover on retro rides magazine. The first full magazine feature on my car.
on my site there are several movies of the car, and the magaical 1005HP dyno run www.highoctane.nl
Enjoy.

You can see my problem in this photo. The gap between the reverse curved panel and the large flat panel.
i tried a lot to lower that, but with marginal results.

Now i'm working on the other side and have a bit different approach.
I've turned the reverse curve not in a straight line, but with a slight bend outwards of the panel. I think that will result in that outside being lower.
But i'll know tommorrow if thats the case...

I'm struggling with a similar shape and also did put a bit of a curve in which resulted in the panel dropping down length wise. I could correct it by using a rubber band over the upper wheel. Hard to explain in text.

Good looking panels Jeffer! Those long sweep are hard to get right.

A way to fix the gap could be .... either you do not have enough shape on the large flat panel lenght ways or.. most probably the reverse curve is to round, so put the reverse back on your wheel backwards and wheel from near the the center of the radios to the edge by pulling straight rather then lifting

I fixed one side, and made the other side.

The lefthand side i corrected by stretching the edge as you can see on the photo in the ewheel. Also I relocated the reverse. Less stright line, and more of an arc. I think that what you meant Peter. Thanks for the help! Thats why I love forums.

Now it fits with 2 small clips without tension in the panel.
Almost ready for welding.

Hi all, A small update on this "little" project.

I've strippedt he layers and layers of bondo of the bonnet. Nothing but see-trough steel :S
Was to be expected though. After that I disassembled the entire structure to take accurate measurements. I've reverse engineered all the inner panels. These will be laser cut any time soon. All the nut cages, main support, air intake, lamp panels, everything will be laser cut to precision. After that I finish the panels of with the wire edges and bends/folds that will need to be pressed in there.

The louvre press is fully functional, it took quite an effort to replicate the exact louvre, and have as little distortion in the surrounding panel when pressing.
Next up is the nose section, and the under-nose. After that I'll TIG weld the whole lot together.

Man those are some beautiful louvers. Wish you would do a post of your press build and the building of your dies. You do some marvelous work, I don't know if new aluminium will make it go faster but it will sure look good getting there.
