Chris, did you reverse the radius arm bolt so you don't have to remove the hub carrier to pull it? Or is it just for mock up of the rods?

I've used the factory bolt. It threads into the wishbone. You have to remove the shocks though, to get the bolt out. The picture I've posted, is the factory setup.

Thanks Chris. I checked the difference between the XJ6 and XKE. The E uses a nut and can only go one way since the bolt cannot pass the shock bolt tube but must pass through the wishbone from the outside after removing the hub carrier. The XJ6 can pass the shock tube if the shock is removed as you mention.
That will be a pain in my case, but maybe only a couple of times.

I'd decided to convert the bonnet to a one piece style that is hinged from the rear, rather than the butterfly style. After the two halves had spent a couple of days in the citric acid, to clean them up, I set about deciding what would look the best for the truck. The profile I ended up with was folded in the brake and then to form the peak, I sandwiched the panel between two boards and then drove my truck over the top board to flatten it all up. Simple as that. The nose was run through the shrinker to pull it round to suit the bonnet

Love the technique of driving over it.

Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Chriz, that's a great nice detail. Show me how you made the first step bend.

Hi Jaro,
The insert I was making was 1500mm long x100mm wide. I folded that in the brake to around 140 degrees down the center. The pictures tell the rest of the story as to what I did. I tried it with a 600mm piece, but the weight of the truck was too much and flattened it out

Had to renew the rear of the bonnet on both sides. I made some dies for the nibbler to put the side profile into the patch.

The next piece to tackle was the hinge support panel. After cutting the shape out, I swaged some lines in it. These lines raise the panel so I can insert the hinge attachment bracket so it doesn't interfere with the outer skin. After the epoxy primer cures, I'll use some panel bonding glue to fix it together.
