I wanted to see if I could make the fender in larger pieces this time as suggested. I cut the panel into four sections but just wanted to see about the rear half being one piece. I think I'm close, but need to finish it up, obviously. It's awesome seeing it form up! I had other commitments so I was only able to get this small amount done, but home this week so more progress to come!
The side grille parts came back from the 3D printer and I'm very happy with them. The whole parts should be done in about a week. Woohoo! Happy new year! Cheers Dave

Looking really good Dave!
Time to start smoothing the lumps and closing in on the shape slowly. Don't do any stretching down in the reverse, leave it alone as you have been, Cheers Charlie

Are the printed grills to be the final product or are they a guide to shape to?

Ah, done! Thanks Steve! Sorry about that. I use this forum type on another site and it automatically inserts the images. Didn’t notice it didn’t do that here. Thank you!
Thanks Charlie, it’s getting there and I’m learning! Rick, I’m planning on t using the final forms as parts to the car. I can have those vacuum chrome plated where needed. From my photo database, it seems the front grille inserts are not chrome rather bare aluminum stock. The outer trim rings are. More progress this week! Cheers Dave

Parts are back from the printers and I'm pretty impressed with how they fit in my openings. I guess my measurements were as accurate as I could hope being based off a model. Some adjusting needed of course.
More metal pics tomorrow. I'm hoping to have the right fender almost formed up. Cheers Dave

One of the parts I need to start making is the window frame. I have a reproduction glass along with the gasket. Having downloaded a bunch of photos of one being restored, do any of you have some good suggestions on how to start fabricating the frame? What thickness to use? I have an idea on how to do it, but I’d like to hear how you’d all proceed. I was initially planning on making a simple wood frame template then replicate. Thoughts? I am also thinking this is a solid piece rather than a hollow box type frame.

I was able to get the fender about done. Nowhere near as smooth as I'd like it to be, but happy with my results so far. I won't attach it to the fascia until later.
Cheers Dave
