weight of 42" edwards wheel
hi, i have purchased a 42" edwards wheel of the type shown in the picture. i need to transport this in a van and wondered if anyone knows the approximate weight ? many thanks Shane

somewhere between 650-750kg for that style of edwards

hi shane make sure it does not get lifted bye the shaft good luck they are not easy things to move

Be really careful if putting it in a van as the tie down points are not as strong as something like a flatbed. They are very unstable items when being moved and could easily topple in a van. Better be safe than sorry. Just my 2p worth.

Probably would be best to lay down. Not sure if it would fit in a van though.

For what it is worth.
When I collected mine, bolted it to two steels, width of van less breathing room. Then decent ratchet straps from end of steels over the top of the wheel, ie triangulated and not using the van tie downs for the wheel itself, just the steels to the floor. One thing is for certain, it cannot fall over, they crack and then they are dead!

If I were doing it, I would start dis assembling it. And get some stout lads to help.

thanks for the replies guys. planning to unbolt it off the stands and lay in down in the van, i can't risk it falling over !
