Very nice work Solis. I notice you bronze weld some of your steel panels is there a reason you do this?

Hi David !
i don't use bronze rod on structural parts some times i use where i want to have parts join together with low melting point but nothing structural
i heard people concern about paint don"t stick i can see where maybe welding with gas and using flux have something to do with that but ts never happened in my experience with tig welding

Hi Sollis,

Nice work.
What is the bronze rod you are using?
Are you welding it with TIG?
What gas are you using?

Scott

just a solid silicon bronze with argon gas and tig i wouldn't join panels and planish its soft and will crack

it also good for something if you don't want you part have weld distortion from the back since its have low melting point it doesn't penetrates true much

not true it always could be better, you can master better skills all the time like work speed ,panel fitting , welding with less distortion, part design make parts with less pieces and much more

i did this gas tank on power hammer just to see if i can do it two part left and right i have buck made

Sollis, I have watched your motorcycles over the years. Seeing your works in progress is really excellent. As builders we really appreciate seeing all of the work that you put in to each project and how you go about things. Thaks, Dutch

I've seen your bikes over the last couple years too. Your work is astounding. Glad to have you posting here. Did you work with Westbury for awhile? I'm not sure I have the right shop name there.
