Tom: What kind of rivets are you planning on pulling and almost as important, how many at a time?

Hi craig,
at the moment i'm only doing a few 3/16 steel rivets, but i've been slowly loosing the strength in my hands. A while back, i had trouble installing small aluminum rivets, i just need the long handles to make up for my inability to use the common hand sqeeze tool, but dont want to buy junk.

If you have an air compressor buy a air powered. Just need an easy pull on the trigger. No suggestion on a hand model Steve

i was thinking of that as well, what would be a good brand for an air powered unit?

I several air units and a couple of Cherry Max pullers but recently I purchased the Milwaukee cordless and never grab the pneumatic's any more. It will pull smaller Cherrymax rivets but I would not do that on a high volume basis. Has no problem with SS 3/16" steel shank rivets.

Rivet puller recommendations
In our Sheet metal shop we use air powered riveters from Harbor Freight. I know most people say that all they have is junk but it is 10 times less money than buying the name brand that we have the same problems with after heavy use on S.S. rivets. For home use you will probably never wear it out.
