Default Introduction Barts Metalwork

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and I would like to start with this introduction. I'm Bart Harkema from the Netherlands (Groningen) and do allround metalwork; blacksmithing, machining, welding, toolmaking, artwork and recently sheetmetal. To share my metalwork adventures I have a small (16K) Youtube channel Barts Metalwork.

I have a 'one man' shop of 9x7 meter close to my home with a lot of nice machines like Schaublin, Deckel, Jones & Shipman, etc. I work there for 2-3 days a week besides my 'normal' job as a teacher (university for physical education, mostly martial arts).

My grandfather was a Blacksmith and I did a lot of metalwork from a young age. A worked as a toolmaker in a aerospace center in the Netherlands for 6 years but then I decide to become a teacher in sport education. Totally different but I love the combination.

I have been wanting to do some more sheet metal work for a long time but didn't have the time and space for it. But I got a new shop a few month ago and no it's time to start some new adventures and skill learning. That's the reason I want to join this forum.

I bough a (cheap) English Wheel, bead roller and shrinker a few weeks ago and was very lucky to buy a Pullmax P13 this week. So I would love to learn some more about this machine and other sheetmetal work. And I would also like to share my projects and knowledge with the rest here.

Greetings from the Netherlands,

Bart Harkema

Hi Bart,
Very welcome here. Your P13 will be a workhorse for cutting and trimming, at the very minimum.

Maybe it's also nice to share some pictures of what I do in my Shop. Just a few of my favorites.

Sometimes Metal Artwork, sometimes making my own tools or machines like a Belt Grinder or Bending Machine.

If someone is interested in my shop and projects: check out Barts Metalwork on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS3...EACQJrR4Om_tPg
