Default Hi, I am Stimpee and I am a Noob...

New guy checking in.

My name is Steve (nickname Stimpee for 20 years), I am from Parrish Florida. I am an engineer with a strong background in advanced materials and composites and have been a car guy and motorcycle guy for a long time. I am just starting to get into building some custom motorcycles - right now interested in cafe racer and street fighter styles. I want to do some custom work in sheet metal with gas tanks, seats/tail sections, frame mounts, etc.

I have a decent amount of machining experience, and some limited welding skills with MIG and some aluminum TIG. I am looking to start learning to shape metal, and possibly start gas welding. Still trying to decide between gas vs a TIG setup - comes down to balance of capability vs money vs difficulty of learning.

I look forward to learning from everyone, and hopefully sharing my projects(s) once I get past the initial learning stages.
