Indy Car Pedal Car
Hello everyone! I figured I would follow up my introduction with some pictures about my first metal shaping project. I am nearly done building an aluminum bodied pedal car modeled off of a 1950s era Indy Car! It has been a ton of fun and a lot of hard lessons learned. I never thought I would get this far and I owe a TON of my progress to metal shapers and fabricators on Instagram and other channels. I am always amazed at how willing people are to help. As I grow more and more interested in bigger projects I went hunting for a source of info and community and was told about Allmetalshaping!

Here is how it sits now. There is still lots to do. I would like to wire edge around the cockpit and foot opening. I've been practicing wire edging scraps and it is definitely not the easiest thing. I am also debating polishing the body instead of paint. My concern with polish is it will show a lot of defects. On the other hand, I've spent a LOT of time on it and it would be cool for it to be obviously hand made.

What color?
I like the polished idea BUT the customer is always right... So ask the customer what color is desired. Whitewalls? Certain color of Purple or Blue or Green? Paint chips to choose from after the initial color choice is made might work.
You'll never know until you ask the customer... Subscribed!
