I then filed and smoothed the weld zone, using the English wheel, planishing hammer and good, old fashioned slapper and dolly.

Looks great. How will the top and bottom halves attach to each other- welded along the flange or will they be crimped and soldered?

Probably spot welded and then edge welded along the seam. Thanks

Do you have info on how old it is.???
Or it's history??

Thanks. My Ranalah is late 1930’s - possibly early 1940’s. Certainly a war time machine, though.

(Wondering if "tractor DB" is same article as "Aston DB" ..... only b'cause "tractor Lambo" is same article as "auto Lambo." )

Kent - you are spot-on. David Brown did indeed become Aston Martin. Hence the DB initials on their models ��

As an aside to the project, I needed to fabricate a lower cradle to accept my small 2” wheels/anvils. This helped with the small confines of the tank radii.
