Default Welding aluminum

I am in the process of building side tanks for a Cooper formula 2 race car. I am oxy-acet welding them. I use to be quiet proficient with the a torch but I pretty much TIG things now. One of the reasons for the TIG was the helmet has a wide lense that allowed my trifocals glasses. Well, I recently had eye surgery that much improved my vision. I bought reading glasses at CVS that fit behind my newly purchased aluminum welding lense from Kent. I got out the Allstate 35 flux and practiced for several hours. It wasn’t long before I was back in the saddle. It felt good to get back to my roots. The new lense is a big improvement over my cobalt blue lenses. I still struggle with the bulky flip up housing that fits over my glasses. Is ther some sort of adjustable headgear that will hold the rectangular welding lense which won’t interfere with my glasses?

Rick, I use the Jackson unigoggle with Kent's lens over my glassses. They are a discontinued item, but I found some on E bay. There is a sale of open box units going on right now. They might not have the preferred metal guide rod, but I fabricated replacements for mine. The headgear is brittle, so I bought a replacement ratcheting hood headgear and ended up with comfortable welding protection.

I agree with Eugene. I use and like the Jackson unigoggle with Kent's lenses, though I use a 2.5 mag cheater lenses instead of my normal reading glasses, however I did find that it does fit over my glasses. They are great quality. Mine has the plastic rods, but has been trouble free so far.

Here is the image from the EBay listing. I missed this earlier, but they appear to be the metal plunger style.

Hour or so ago there were more than 10 available. Somebody bought them all but for one. I just got the last one.

That is exactly what I was looking for. When I went on to eBay, I only saw ones with an elastic strap like I already have.

They were listed as Jackson welding googles. I first searched Jackson Unigoggles but those did not show up.

Someone got greedy as there were 14 available yesterday morning. I had put two in my cart, and was looking at something else. 15 minutes later when I tried to pay for them it showed only one left.
I highly doubt that whoever bought 10+ pairs will ever use them all. Hoarders. If you are reading this how about sharing a few with the community?

Rick keep checking Ebay. The metal ones do occasionally show up. The plastic ones are OK. Just have to be careful with them. I have a pair that has lasted seven years with no issues.

Hi Rick,
Send me an email, if this looks okay?
