Default Sad news...TheRodDoc

Long time member Richard Crees passed away.
https://westlibertyindex.com/stories...crees-74,85946

Richard started on the old AllShops Metal Shaping forum back around 2001 in the very early days of the community. He did a very nice animation of various metal shaping machined which was lost after Terry Cowan died and the site went away.

Richard followed many of us to Metalmeet and then to AllMetalShaping after MetalMeet imploded.

Another of us old farts bites the dust. May your roads be straight and skies clear Richard.

Richard's tutorial on stump shrinking was the inspiration for me to develop my TuckPuck. I contacted him before I started selling them. He gave me his blessing. I wonder if he ever finished his Sprite with the hemi.

He certainly had a knack for illustrating visually. Were his mechanism illustrations in a downloadable format? If so, I may just have them on one of my computers.

Sad to see The Rod Doc has passed. Quite a character. Brilliant.

I got in touch with Richard Crees shortly after he got involved on Metalmeet. We talked by phone many times.

In about 2008 I visited his home/shop and we spent a couple of day together. I recall he had a stack of hot Rod, Car Craft, Rod and Custom magazines about table high that cars he had built were featured in. Pretty impressive resume'.

He also was a very talented musician. He played on weekends in clubs and dance halls in his area. I don't believe he was a band member, just joined in when the opportunity presented. He enjoyed life.

I was lucky to have known "The Rod Doc".
