Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Looks good Marcus.

Interestingly I've never seen a windscreen roped in from the outside. I've always done it from inside and only ever seen it done that way.

Must be a Victorian thing! Clearly it works.

Good to hear from you mate.

Not sure why Willys designed it to go from the inside. It is what is stock on these the manual shows it too. Everyone has always done them that way and the position of the pinch seam dictates it too.

37 Ford back glass goes in the same way.
I'm sure there are several others like this.

The 1950 Austin manual shows that for the opera windows, and the same method will apply to the quarter windows in the two door.

I think the gasket I bought by the meter is to suit early Ford rear windows as looked the same. I also used the same gasket for the Willys rear window as well.

When you cut it, did you cut the exact window opening perimeter or did you take off 1/2" or so for some stretch?

I cut it long by 3/16"-3/8" as rubber shrinks over time. Also means there is no strain on the join and sits into the corners far better.
