Default Sad news about Ray Rodman

Ray Rodman passed away yesterday. Many of the member here had met Ray in Oblong, Illinois at the Metalmeet functions. He was a very nice person and will be missed by many. May he Rest in Peace.

We've lost a wonderful friend. I met Ray in 2007 at the Oblong meet. A few months later he drove up from his home in New Mexico and we spent the weekend beginning the framing on my shop. Over the next few months he'd drive up and help me work on the shop. His presence will be missed but his smile and gentle sense of humor lives on in my memory. Thank you my friend.

I will miss Ray.
He always was happy and full of life.
I meet him in Oblong in 2007, then would see him in Denmark in June each year
at the Viking meet.
Rest in peace my friend!

So sorry to hear this. I also met Ray at Oblong and on the MetalMeet site. He was a gentle soul who impressed me because of his zest for life and being able to always remain above the political fray. Rest in peace Ray.

It is a sad fact of life that we folk of a 'certain age' are going to go sooner rather than later. Our warranty has long expired.

I met Ray in Oblong as well, and had a good relationship with him. I even sent him a treadmill motor and assembly I found on junk day around my neighborhood in Louisville. He always had a smile for you even if he didnt know you. Yet. He was sure to introduce himself and make a friend out of you.

Godspeed, Ray.

Sad to read that Ray has passed away, I just met him once in Denmark but will always remember his natural positive aura.
