Default Dan 'Carbuilder' Pascoe...banned

It is with considerable sadness we announce the banning of someone we thought was a friend to the metal shaping community, Dan (Carbuilder) Pascoe.

Every thread in the reciprocating machine build series has these words or something similar:

Quote:
The plans or design are available free for any to use for building their personal machine. HOPEFULLY people would not use this as the basis for a commercial product. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the pubic areas of anyone who does. ONE of the things that killed the MetalMeet thread was someone who decided to produce machines. They never did but the acknowledgment that they were definitely shut down the sharing to a large degree. Some folks are very sensitive to being given credit for their ideas. The best way to totally shut down sharing is for someone to steal ideas for profit. It's not illegal but it sure as heck isn't right.
Dan was fully aware of this and yet participated fully in the discussion asking questions, receiving answers, and posting his progress. We were very shocked when Dan announced the intention of selling his 'Shapester' to the HAMB:

We always knew that sooner or later this information would be ripped off...after all, Harbor Freight gets their designs somewhere...

What amazed us was that it was Dan that did it and had the nerve to imply that this was his design. It may be legal and it may be something we should have expected but we don't have to like it and we don't have to associate with people who do.

What a sad day , someone who was giving freely and making a good contribution to the site goes and P***'s on it , Oh well hopefully anyone interested in this sort of machine will find Allmetalshaping and realize that it ain't that hard to make one for yourself and the fact that you don't need a machine shop to do it either thanks to Kerry showing us all that all you need is a saw , welder and drill to do the job . I take my hat off to all on the operation's team for the great site they are building and hope that in the future people will respect them and the site and give more than they take.
