Class
I have been considering some classes, I would have to charge a fee though, Suggestions or feedback (constructive criticism) would be appreciated, I am also working on a new video and possibly a series on welding and cutting with the torch, feedback on that would be good also.

Pressure setting for the DHC 2000
Setting up the pressure on the DHC 2000 torch I borrowed this from the other site for your enjoyment and less typing for me Try this to simplify the set up, I call it calibrating the regulators to the torch. Once the pressure is set on the regulator mark the gauge with a pencil, or sharpie. This is a step by step and understanding what a Neutral or Just Off Feather flame (Same condition different terminology) is VERY important to get this and adjusting the flame to weld with correct. http://www.cut-like-plasma.com/info_...less_steel.htm Look at the video at the beginning, it explains it pretty good, I am working on filming a better example. Tanks open, remember 1 turn or less on the acet. tank valve! Regulators backed off (zero flow) # 3 tip on the torch, both torch valves at least 2 turns open or fully open. turn acet. to 4 psi on the gauge, light the flame, increase oxy slowly to get a neutral (Just off Feather) or JOF now measure the flame cone it should be 1/2 inch (the large end of one of the other tips is 1/2"), usually at 4 psi (on the gauge) the flame will be a little shorter according to the particular regulator or gauge, remember the torch needs 4lbs AT THE TORCH so the gauge may read higher or possibly lower. Most read 5-6 lbs (some do not read that low) If the Oxygen gauge will not read that low put an acetelyne gauge 0-30 psi on the low pressure (line) side of the Ox regulator. Slowly increase the acet first then follow with the OX back to A JOF flame untill the cone measures the 1/2" So now with the gas flowing and the flame cone measuring 1/2 inch make a mark on the gauge, turn off the torch, put on the tip you need, 19 gauge the "0" tip or for 120 tubing the 1.5 and so on, crack open the valve say 1/4 turn or so and look at the gauge if it reads different than "the mark" with the gas flowing adjust the regulator to "the mark", most regulators will change a little when you go from the largest tip to the smaller tips, and REMEMBER THAT THE "FULLY OPEN torch valves and 1/2 inch flame cone " ONLY APPLIES TO THE #3 TIP! So for like the "0" tip 1/32 nd of a turn is all it takes and the #1 tip about 1/8th turn and so on. Now once you "mark the gauge" you can return to this setting without having to go through the set up each time. also setting the "static pressure" (regs and tank open and torch valves closed) will not give you the same pressure as with the gas flowing through the perspective size tips. Learn to turn the torch up or down in small increments at the red and blue knobs on the torch untill you find the happy setting where you have control of the puddle without having to pull the torch away from the metal to control the heat which also oxidizes the weld puddle. I hope this helps, if you still need help please call my cell 803-429-2545 with the torch in your hand and we will walk through it together, even on sunday. My Victor regulators will not hold steady at that low pressure (4psi).
Does anyone have an Acetlene regulator that will for less than the national debt? |

Regulators
Quote:
I have a great low pressure regulator that is US made to my specs and I can guarantee it works correctly, All except ours and Smith are now made either in Mexico (Victor) or **OTHER** Sometimes the price of low cost is not the most economical route. Call me and I can help you out a little on the price. Jim

Just a FYI: Your link to the new site, as well as the link in your signature, still point to your old site.
