Let's not forget Dan Pate for bringing his flattop grill all the way from Minnesota. He not only cooked breakfast and lunch he paid for all the food.

Yes. Dan brought some Marchant style dies. They were ona table in the middle of the room beside the snap on tool bag. Saturday morning, the shrink dies were missing.
Hopefully, they will be turn up. If someone finds them with their stuff when they unload, please get them back to Dan. These are the stretch versions. The missing shrinks are similar. 20210828_091451_compress39.jpg

Roundup this year was a great gathering of talented and generous shapers.
I had a great time, thanks Jim for offering the use of your shop! below Jim is using the Ekoldt to shrink up some extra metal C24AE841-A5EC-49AD-AAC4-CABDA16F6CFA.jpeg 47994BAD-0B72-44CA-AE75-7A88C4C5099C.jpeg Jim demonstrating the process of metal finishing 0E089B25-FD36-49E7-A814-08772552E0C2.jpeg 5BA4C915-EA68-46DD-80FD-9D01EA431069.jpeg Archie Hunt hosted a seminar on preparation and polishing of metals. he explained how to remove oxides, the various abrasives and buffing wheels, and polishing compounds. thanks Archie 93BCD492-6900-4CB2-B0D2-38B00A7DF165.jpeg 5327E4E2-1716-446D-A56A-673B181BEA47.jpeg 55B178EB-13C7-407D-B71C-3437C46F8126.jpeg Robert McCartney hosted a seminar on custom tooling for reciprocating machines. these are not the tools normally sold by the manufacture, but those created to meet a need for a special shaping operation. The next 4 pictures are of Bill Tromblay and his seminar on Oxy- hydrogen welding of aluminum. He also hosted an evening session where we each got a chance to test our skills. Bill’s welding skillset and ability to clearly explain it allowed most everyone to complete a good weld joint. Thanks Bill

Mike explained and demonstrated how to use the hammer to shape a door skin (low crown), and a reverse panel. The use of an oxy-acetylene torch to shrink all four sides of a square panel to create a low crown panel, and how to use his dies in an arbor press to create a high crown section for a fender repair. It's nice to see all those familiar faces I wish I could be there it's also strange to see all those people gathering together with no mask, Here in OZ at the moment we could not have such a meting due to the lock down ,and if I was to try and get caught the find is $10.000 ,it's that bad at the moment with the restrictions that only 2 people are allowed to be in the same room at the same time RIGHT or WRONG with the restrictions ? Here in Victoria we only have a few Covid cases at the moment
To all involved all I can say is WELL DONE ! and may be ? In the near future I will be able to join you guys Peter Tommasini
