Feels like cheating as does it so quick and easy. No timer so have to keep a close eye on it as will burn holes right through both layers otherwise!
Gift from the wife?? Does she perchance have a sister?

A buddy with a high-end European panel shop gave me one that they had sitting under the stairs. It wouldn't cope with the new Jags and BMW's so it was retired and replaced with a $32k artificial lung machine. Blew all of the dust and mouse poo out of the old one and it welds like a good 'un. Limit seems to be 1.0mm to 1.2mm but sure does make joining the light gauge stuff very quick and distortion free. A great piece of kit to have in the shop.

Jeep is looking great Marcus.

hey Marcus, that spot welder looks the same as mine, does it hold up ok on 1mm + 1mm? what size is the contact spot on the tips are you using 3mm?

i only ask as mine seems a little lacking on 1 + 1, it holds but after using the spot welders we have at work (13k amps) it seems useless lol

cab is looking great by the way

So long as the tips are kept at 3mm, it is working perfectly on 0.9+0.9mm and have to be careful not to have too much clamping pressure or hold the trigger too long. Has burnt right through that thickness a couple of times while I was getting used to it. It rated at 1.2+1.2mm but have not tried that yet.
