Default Good Morning

Hello fellow metal heads. I am here because I know nothing, zip, nada, nary a thing but I would like to learn. This all started easily enough, as most disasters usually do, when my daughter came to me about a year ago and asked if I would teach her about cars. That was an obvious indication that we needed to start a car project. Over the intervening year we found a car, 3 actually, much to my wife's displeasure, and will now be tearing the first one down. My oldest daughter and I are 'cadillac buddies' as we both own newer caddies. So the obvious choice of project was a mid fifties Cadillac as such we found a 54 Caddy. It's in decent shape, all there but will require a bit of work as we shape it into what we want. My youngest daughter's favourite car in the world is a 51 bullet nose studebaker which we also happened upon so that will be coming into the garage here in January. The last project we found was a 1938 Dodge p/u which will be the rat rod. It goes without saying I will be busy. I grew up around equipment and worked as a mechanic for a number of years so cars aren't new to me but true metal shaping is. So I expect this to be both rewarding and challenging.

Hi James and welcome!
Some of my fondest memories are working side by side with my son building his T bucket.
