Default Hi from London,UK

Hi there!!

This is Miguel, a 25yo Spaniard living in London, UK, since 2011.

I am studing a Level 3 in Welding an fabrication and a NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical engineering (lathes, drills, milling...), and I studied Level's 1 an 2 in MIG and TIG welding previously.

I want to get into the motorcycle building/fabrication and I don't know where to start from.

I am really interested in getting hands on and learn metal shaping, but there are no courses at the college here and the ones I've found like private companies are really expensive and sadly I can't afford them.

Any idea or advice would be really much appreciated.

My main reason to join you ladies and gentlemns is to learn from all of you

PS: What's the true difference between panel beating and metal shaping? Because the look very similar to each other...

Thanks a lot

Miguel

Hi Miguel,
Welcome to the forum, yes it's difficult to find a college course that teaches metal shaping in the UK, as you say private teaching isn't cheap, but persevere it pays off.
My understanding of the panel beating term, is that was from the repair of vehicles, cos thats what you had to do, compared with today, where you replace them and metalshaping is making new panels from scratch.
