Hey guys,
Well where to start?? I live in Montgomery, IL about 45mins southwest of Chicago. Over the years I have had countless jobs from computer tech, performance shop, bouncer, shipyard welder, millwright, blacksmith for a living history village and many more. Currently I find myself a senior in college graduating this spring with a degree in Studio Art at the age of 31. Some of the art I make relies on my use of traditional methods. For example I carved a wooden sculpture with only hand powered tools; mostly with a draw knife. Another I incorporated my welding and blacksmith skills. For years I have wished to learn metal forming and now want to learn it to incorporate into my art work which leads me here. I am looking to start picking up tools for my shop. I was given an pneumatic planishing hammer which I haven't tried out yet. On my want list is panel beating bag and mallets and eventually a English wheel. I hoping to read and research alot on the forum and learn from the experience here. Thanks,
