Hi Jeff. Welcome to the forum. Difference in voltage. The machine will run faster or slower according to 50 or 60Hz on which the motor is wound. Here in Europe we either rewind (give a new winding) or replace the engine, or the machine spins more slowly. There is no other problem.
It is possible to connect the machine and work with it without modification. You can use the current converter if you want the same parameters.

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the forum. The P9 is physically a big machine, and so from my experience I think a P5 would be good for your 16 and 18ga steel. The P3/13 would be a little light. P7 would be okay. The P21 would be overkill in physical size, but does P5 level work.
