Default Hoping to learn from and be inspired by all you talented folks!

Well, I'll keep this short and sweet...I'm working toward retiring from my 3rd career, and being a guy that's never wanted to sit around, and who's always loved to create things--metal, fiberglass, wood, fabric, whatever--I've wanted to learn for years about making cool and wonderful things from sheet metal. I'm looking forward to completing the restoration of a 1930 Model A Cabriolet my father started many years ago (he died in 2010), plus I have this wacky idea about seeing if I could make a sculptural aluminum nose piece for cars like the many Lotus 7 kit cars that are being constructed today. I do have a TIG welder that I'm learning to use; unfortunately not any local classes, so I'm having to learn on my own with DVD's and books. Could something like metal shaping keep me busy and challenged in retirement? Could it help me earn a few bucks as well? Could it scratch my "itch" to be creative? All questions I'm hoping to answer as I watch and listen through this site...thanks!
