Default Blaine from York PA

I was invited here by a member. We share similar interests in vintage car restoration and metal fabrication and he thought i would enjoy the site. My current project is creating a detailed CAD drawing of Simplex Servi-cycle motorbike, with the intention of making a 1/4 scale model of it.

I’ve got decades of experience with my mig welder and bandsaws fabricating a variety of things, but this project will require skills and methods on a much smaller scale. I also have set up a small foundry for casting small aluminum parts, and i tinker with 3D printing, so it will most likely be a combination of fabrication methods. Being that the Servi-cycle frame is constructed basically from 2 continuous loops of DOM tubing, i’ve dubbed the project as “Project Pipe Dream”.

Looking forward to learning better ways of doing things right the first time.

Thanks, Blaine.
