HI Folks. My name is Stuart Jordan aka SAJ. I am 71, live in Auckland NZ up the side of an extincti volcano with a coast to coast view of the city. I own a company manufacturing fibreglass resins, body fillers, polishes etc. I have a good mechanical workshop for my old-car hobby and I collect old machine tools for this shop. I have done basic panel beating, not much shaping, but it is a favourite for me to watch and I intend to learn more.
I work full time in my company but will pull back a bit and indulge my hobbies soon.
Years ago I ran a company doing metal punching, spinning, pressing, welding and fabrication. But again no real shaping and forming.
I have various welders including a Russian Multiplaz. My stick welding is useless, I think because one eye is completely blind and I can never tell where the end of the rod is. But my oxy, MIG and plasma welding is OK.
Are there any other successful stick arc welders on the forum? If so maybe I need to try harder!
