Afternoon all.

I'm Rich and I've never hit a bit of metal before, at least not in a constructive way.

I have an interest in pretty much anything that can be built by hand and one of my current projects is turning an ugly, unloved old Honda Superdream into a cafe/boardtrack racer.

I've done a lot of tinkering on bikes before but this is my first "build" and in line with my general outlook, I'm trying to learn as much and do as much of it myself as possible.

To this end, I've learnt to weld (properly, at last) and have done my first full engine strip.

I've fabricated a new rear hoop and subframe and and almost ready to make the seat hump which will contain the battery and all the electrics.

I could just buy one off the shelf or get someone to make one for me, but I'd much rather learn the basics of sheet metal work and fab one myself.

As of yet I know pretty much nothing apart from what I've picked up from a few youtube videos, but as soon as I get round to it I'll be asking a lot of questions.

A few people have looked at me as if I'm mental when I told them I was thinking of making my own steel bodywork with no prior experience, and this may well be the case, but hey, you've got to start somewhere.
