New guy in SoCal

My name is Jim King from Palmdale Ca. I discovered this forum in my favorite magazine(Hot Rod May2010) and thought I'd have a look. I have'nt seen any BIG ego's or the like so this is good. Anyway I'm a former Ironworker who wants to try the thin stuff. I wanted to try doing this 20-25 years ago but life got in the way. I will no doubt have more then just a few questions but then again I might be able to help someone else also. Thank you all for your time. Jim P.S.
